About

Welcome to Fritz & Fräulein’s Vintage Redesign blog, featuring favorite styles, vintage finds, interior design tips, DIY and great handmade artisans.  I’ll mix this up with a dash of my creative, life adventures – including the latest and greatest of what we’re getting up to in the studio.

A little bit about me…a nomadic creative, iced coffee addict, raised in small town Illinois and educated at Syracuse University in New York and London.  After spending 5 years in the sunshine of Venice, California, working with some of the most inspiring and talented people in the entertainment industry, I decided to change gears and move back East to Brooklyn with my French Bulldog, Tank.  My favorite things include: beautiful, functional design; flea markets on sunny days; antique stores that remind me of digging through my grandmother’s attic; wandering around exploring/photographing/discovering/getting lost in my current city of choice; jasmine green tea that reminds me of my days in Europe; cute dogs in preppy sweaters; a well-made drink; food that rivals even the best men; and a hike or yoga session that puts personal trainers and therapists to shame.

I hope you enjoy reading and my posts add a dash of creativity to your life.

About Fritz & Fräulein:

**The company itself was born out of my love for all things vintage combined with my personal passion for sustainability and formal training in design. In my travels to flea markets around the globe, I come across gorgeous pieces that inspire me and where, oftentimes, their original use has become obsolete. I decide how I can breathe new life into them through functional redesign or simply allow them to be as they are and appreciated again in a new home. Because of the nature of the materials I work with, every piece I create is truly one-of-a-kind with an extreme attention to detail and quality. I also do custom orders and interior consultation and sourcing.

So what’s with the name? It’s a tribute to my German heritage and great grandfather, Fritz, who lived to be 103, and always said the key to a long life is to live positively, passionately, love fully and “don’t sweat the small stuff.” I carry this mantra with me everyday as I pursue building Fritz & Fräulein.

My ultimate goal is to pass along a bit of history through these pieces while enriching people’s lives with function and great design. I hope you enjoy these as much as I love discovering and creating them.**
